Welcome to Our Lady Of Victory Council 7968 The Knights Of Columbus
Hello, I'm Daniel Lesh, the current Grand Knight of this Council. I would like to personally thank you for taking a moment to learn about who we are and what we do. You are about to embark on an adventure that is wholesome and entertaining with immediate benefits and long term positive impacts for you and your family. Aside from God, your family comes first. You're empowered to become the Catholic gentleman God intends for to be.
Onward!
Thanks to the efforts of Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven and some of his parishioners, the Connecticut state legislature on March 29, 1882, officially chartered the Knights of Columbus as a fraternal benefit society. The Order is still true to its founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity.
The Knights was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.
The history of the Order shows how the foresight of Father Michael J. McGivney, whose cause for sainthood is being investigated by the Vatican, brought about what has become the world's foremost Catholic fraternal benefit society. The Order has helped families obtain economic security and stability through its life insurance, annuity and long-term care programs, and has contributed time and energy worldwide to service in communities.
The Knights of Columbus has grown from several members in one council to more than 15,000 councils and 2 million members throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, Ukraine, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Cuba, Guatemala, Guam and Saipan.
Our Lady of Victory Council 7968 in Crestview, Florida was founded in 1982 through the efforts of Thomas Lovito and former District Deputy Bob Truno of Pensacola. Since then this Council has worked closely with the Our Lady of Victory Parish. We provide funds and super stewards for various ministries and projects. Our Knights are actively energizing the parish. We also support two Parishes in DeFuniak Springs and Bonifay, Florida. We open our Knights of Columbus Hall to community use including church activities and BINGO. Funds raised, as a result, are available to various community charitable programs and entities.
The
Knights of Columbus Hall is located next to Twin Hills Park on Highway 90
